Telangana Guest Lecturers Get Assurances on Pending Salaries, Experience Certificates

The Telangana Qualified Degree Guest Lecturers Association (TGQDGLA) has said that its representatives received positive assurances from the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE) on several issues concerning guest lecturers working in Government Degree Colleges.

An association delegation led by State President Dr. M. Srisailam met CCE Joint Director Prof. P. Balabhaskar on Saturday and held discussions lasting about an hour.

According to the association, the Joint Director assured the delegation that pending salaries of guest lecturers newly appointed for the 2026–27 academic year would be released within a week. The association also said that instructions had been issued to the concerned officials to process the salary release file.

The delegation was further informed that eligible guest lecturers would receive official experience certificates recognising their period of service. The association also stated that the Joint Director had assured experience weightage of one mark per year, up to a maximum of five marks, in upcoming university recruitment notifications.

The delegation submitted a set of demands, including regular payment of salaries by the first of every month, revision of remuneration once every five years and timely allocation of funds to prevent payment delays.

It also sought continuous engagement of eligible guest lecturers without requiring them to attend interviews every academic year. The association urged the authorities to complete the appointment process at the beginning of each academic year so that lecturers could take up their duties from the first day of the academic session.

The association said guest lecturers played an important role in delivering quality education in Government Degree Colleges and appealed to the government to address their concerns.

The delegation included State General Secretary Dr. Gaddam Adamu, State Coordinator Dr. A. Venu and State Vice-President Dr. S. Krishanaiah, along with other association representatives.
