Human Errors Also Contribute to Disasters Alongside Natural Calamities, Says Swamiji
Everyone Should Come Forward to Protect Cows: Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar
Vikarabad District: Protecting cows means safeguarding Indian culture, traditions, nature and Dharma, said Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji, head of Avadhuta Datta Peetham, Mysuru. He observed that human behaviour and mistakes, along with natural calamities, also contribute to disasters. He called upon people to respect nature, show compassion towards all living beings and follow a righteous way of life.
The inauguration of Sri Aditi Goshala, established under the leadership of Hindu Janashakti and Shivashakti at Vatti Meenapalli village in Nawabpet mandal of Vikarabad district, was held on Monday. The installation ceremony of the deities was conducted grandly.
Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, who attended the programme as the chief guest, stressed the importance of cow protection and urged everyone to actively participate in the noble cause.
Addressing the gathering, Swamiji said cows hold a special place in Indian culture and are revered as Gomatha rather than being considered merely livestock. He highlighted their significant contribution to agriculture, the rural economy and environmental protection. He said serving and protecting cows is not only a religious activity but also a social responsibility.
He emphasised that goshalas should provide shelter to aged, sick and non-milking cows. He also suggested that these centres should become self-sustainable rather than depending entirely on donations. By promoting cow dung-based organic manure and natural farming, goshalas could support farmers and rural youth.
Swamiji further stated that goshala centres should evolve into institutions that preserve Indian culture, Vedic traditions and spiritual values for future generations. He stressed the need to cultivate compassion, service-mindedness and love for nature among children and youth. Dharma, he said, is not limited to visiting temples but also includes showing responsibility and compassion towards all living beings.
He appreciated the efforts of Sri Aditi Gokshetra organisers and appealed to the public to extend support through financial contributions, cattle fodder, veterinary services and voluntary work.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar announced that road-widening works on the Shankarpally–Vikarabad road would be taken up with an allocation of Rs. 100 crore. He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had given special attention to the region and sanctioned funds for road development, considering his responsibility as Speaker and his association with the area. He acknowledged that the works had been delayed due to financial constraints and assured that steps would be taken to complete them at the earliest.
The programme was attended by Hindu Janashakti President Lalith Kumar, Shivashakti Founder Karunakar Suguna, Hindu Janashakti State President Srinivas, Shivashakti’s Kalyan Kumar, village Sarpanch Shekar Reddy, former Sarpanch Prabhakar Reddy, spiritual leaders, Vedic scholars, cow protection activists, public representatives, village elders, devotees and a large number of local residents.
