Jogulamba Gadwala: District Collector Rizwan Basha Sheikh said that the life of Valmiki Maharishi, who wrote Ramayana and introduced it to the world, is an ideal for everyone.
On the occasion of Valmiki Maharshi Jayanti, the Collector was the chief guest in a program organized by the District Backward Classes Development Department at Gadwala Collectorate on Monday. Many officials and leaders of the Boya Valmiki community along with the Collector garlanded Maharshi’s portrait and performed pooja. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that it was a matter of pride for the government to officially organize Valmiki Jayanti. He said that in Jogulamba Gadwala district there are more people belonging to Valmiki community and the government is working for their welfare. He said that although they do not have a caste profession, they are working in various fields and the government is supporting them for their livelihood through Boya Development Corporation. Boya Valmikul said that they should educate their children well and they can excel in any field only with education. It is said that Sitaram’s life with all virtues has been described in the Ramayana written by Maharishi Valmiki. It is praised that Ramayana stands as the foremost among orthodox Indian scriptures and helps man to live with moral values. He expressed the opinion that the Jayanthi program will help to tell the life history of Maharishi Valmiki, who wrote such a great book.
Additional Collector Narsinga Rao (Local Bodies), Trainee Deputy Collector Raj Kumar, District Officers of various departments, Collector’s office staff, several Valmiki Sangha leaders and others participated in the programme.
