The Chief Secretary directed officials to fully utilise funds allocated under Samagra Shiksha and PM SHRI by the first week of January to facilitate additional funding from the Centre. He pointed out that less than 10 per cent of the Rs.538 crore allocated under PM SHRI had been spent so far. He stressed improving infrastructure and learning outcomes in the 794 selected PM SHRI schools across the state. He stated that Rs.1,763 crore had been allocated under Samagra Shiksha for 2026–27, but only Rs.79 crore had been spent so far. Emphasising uninterrupted drinking water supply until the end of summer, the Chief Secretary directed officials to identify alternative water sources and arrange supplies through private borewells and tankers wherever necessary. District-level drinking water committees must meet weekly, while mandal-level committees should be formed by the end of November. Repairs to hand pumps, borewells and open wells must be completed by November 15. A special drive should be conducted from November 15 to December 31 to identify and resolve drinking water problems. He said the sanctioning of 2.5 lakh houses under the second phase and another one lakh under the first phase was pending and should be completed quickly. As part of the ‘Mana Indiramma Intlo Deepavali’ initiative, completed houses should display new logo stickers, and celebrations at beneficiaries’ homes should be publicised through social media. He further directed officials to provide free sand to beneficiaries, collecting only transportation charges through the ‘Mana Isuka – Mana Vahanam’ app. The subsidised cement benefit of Rs.230 per bag should also reach every eligible beneficiary.
