MADANAPALLE: Utthamma, aged 68, has filed her nomination as the Jana Sena Party candidate for the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency seat from CTM-1 in Madanapalle, Annamayya district, ahead of the Andhra Pradesh local body elections.
Due to her advanced age, she reached the nomination centre with the assistance of party workers and supporters and submitted her papers. Local party workers described her decision to contest as a strong example of commitment to public service.
The development comes amid the ongoing nomination process for the 2026 local body polls in the region. Video footage from the nomination site shows Utthamma being supported by party workers as she completed the formalities.
This marks another instance of senior citizens entering the electoral fray in the current local body election cycle in Andhra Pradesh.
