Karimnagar : In an era where many parents prioritize academics over sports, a family from Karimnagar is showing a different path by nurturing their children’s passion for athletics alongside their education.
The three young siblings—A. Abhinav Ambedkar, A. Ambedkar Das, and A. Amrutha Varshini—have achieved remarkable success in roller skating, clinching gold medals in the recently held Erstwhile Karimnagar District Roller Skating Championship 2026. With their impressive performance, all three have earned selection to represent the district at the upcoming Telangana State Level Championship, scheduled to take place at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad from November 12 to 15.
Rigorous Training at Ambedkar Stadium
Recognizing their natural talent and eagerness for roller skating, their father, Antaragadda Rama Rao, a Deputy Engineer in a government department, enrolled them at the Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar. Under the guidance and dedicated mentorship of skating coach Gattu Anil Kumar Goud, the trio undergoes rigorous daily training to hone their skills. Mr. Rama Rao devotes his personal leisure time to supporting his children’s sports training, ensuring they stay motivated and disciplined.
Excelling in Academics Too
Apart from their stellar achievements on the skating rink, the three children are equally commendable in their school academics. Expressing joy over their balanced progress, their school teachers noted that all three siblings consistently excel in their studies and secure top grades.
Local sports enthusiasts, coaches, and district officials have applauded Rama Rao, his wife Premalatha, and coach Anil Kumar Goud for encouraging the children and setting an inspiring benchmark for holistic child development.
